DIXON, Ann Hubbard, 82, of Tampa died Saturday, March 28, 2015. She was born in Hopkins County Kentucky, the daughter of Beryl Peyton Hubbard and Virgil Hubbard. She graduated from Western Kentucky University and later moved to Hillsborough County where she graduated with a masters degree from the University of South Florida. She was a counselor and teacher in Hillsborough County schools for thirty-seven years, including Mann Junior High where she retired in 1993. DIXON, Ann Hubbard, 82, of Tampa died Saturday, March 28, 2015. She was born in Hopkins County Kentucky, the daughter of Beryl Peyton Hubbard and Virgil Hubbard. She graduated from Western Kentucky University and later moved to Hillsborough County where she graduated with a masters degree from the University of South Florida. She was a counselor and teacher in Hillsborough County schools for thirty-seven years, including Mann Junior High where she retired in 1993. She was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brandon and a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Brandon for the past thirty-five years. She was also a member of the Brandon Women's Investment club for over ten years. Her favorite hobbies were music and travel but her greatest joy was watching and participating in the development of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Dixon; brother, John Carroll Hubbard. Survivors include her sons, Robert Jackson Dixon and his wife, Gloria Anne Dixon of Winter Springs, Fla., John Robert Dixon and his wife, Yoniece Mitchell Dixon of Tampa, Fla.; much beloved grandchildren, Jonathan Logan Dixon, Byron Hamilton Dixon of Winter Springs, Fla., Madeline Sophia Dixon, Clarissa Elizabeth Dixon of Tampa, Fla.; brother, Donald Peyton Hubbard and his wife, Jane Hamilton Hubbard of Knoxville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Clara Margaret Hubbard of Evansville, Ind.; nieces, Carol Ann Taber (David) of Nashville, Tenn., Marcia Kay Passman (Carl) of Natchez, Miss., Sara Margaret Davis (Bruce) of Lawrenceville, Ga., Beverly Jean Woodall (Henry) of Wasilla, Alaska; nephew, Virgil Hubbard (Susan) of Knoxville, Tenn.; and many beloved friends. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 402 East Lumsden Rd, Brandon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be held in Dalton Cemetery in Dalton, Ky. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
